Coastal Flood Advisory
Issued by the National Weather Service at 4:31 PM EDT on May 12, 2008

... Coastal flood advisory now in effect until 6 am EDT Tuesday...

The coastal flood advisory is now in effect until 6 am EDT
Tuesday.

Strong northeast winds have resulted in tidal departures of
around 2 1/2 to 3 feet above normal. This in combination with
relatively high astronomical tides will result in minor to
locally moderate coastal flooding. Conditions slowly improve later
tonight as winds lighten and back to the north/northeast.
Departures of 2 to 2 1/2 feet above normal can be anticipated
later tonight.

A coastal flood advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
